Back in Full Swing

Howdy! (smile) I am excited to begin/continue the conversation of life, longhorns, and little experiences from God!

As you may know, I will be going to New York City this summer, more specifically to the Bronx! I am so incredibly pumped to be back in God's world in a new way in a new place!

I hope that many of you have received letters, telling you a little about the trip and I hope that I can explain more as we go. This post is really just to say hi and that updates should be coming soon and semi often . . . I will leave you with this semi-random question . . .

How does technology effect our spiritual lives? Is it possible to turn all the noise down and hear God anymore? Is it possible to sit in silence and solitude and just be?

A professor proposed that it is almost possible to be omnipresent now and omni-everything else . . . as he can ask his students ANY trivia question and with the internet they can figure out essentially EVERY question. We live in an age of infinite (at least as it seems) and endless knowledge, all at our fingertips. We can also be face to face and in constant contact with someone who lives across the world in China or anywhere else! We can know about the past of 5 minutes ago or 5000 years ago all with the push of a button on our iphones or know about what is going to happen in the next 5 minutes or the next year in sports, the arts etc.

Will we ever be able to live in the present again?

Does this mean your working with Joe Hays...if so cool. Nope the last two years I gave up TV for lent that included march madness, what a blessing the time spent watching TV was spent contemplating the scriptures and listening to God....amazing don't know why I still watch TV. Wait HGTV or how else would I know how to decorate the house.

ha! I don't think Joe Hays is a part of the team in the Bronx Jared Looney, his wife, and Malissa Endsley are the only names I know for sure. They are in coordination with the Manhattan church though, so I'm sure Joe Hays' name will pop up at some point when we are there.
