The problem (that comes to my mind, at least) is that no person or institution can serve 2 masters. Government's master is, by definition, the country (will pass up cheap shots on almost any president here), so the institution of government might be able to work with the church, but will never be aligned with it. Ditto for the church in government. I think it's usually this way with businesses, too, although since many businesses report to a single person, that person can choose to run it with the goal of fulfilling God's Word rather than maximizing profit.
