We're in the home stretch. Two weeks of school followed by finals. Question that randomly passed through my mind . . .

why has the church lost sight of the end times, the early church lived as if it was always right around the corner . . . thats a pretty important mindset to have isnt it? It makes me think about a year of Heaven talks at youthwave and big Burritos. Good times.

Ah, Freebirds. I honestly don't know if I could ever grow tired of the Monster :) Here's how I go about it - Wheat tortilla, rice, black beans, mixed cheese, steak, more cheese (it's important to do it this way, trust me) sour cream, lots of lime juice, and a touch of the mild sauce (its green). Whatever you do, don't slow down. Keep a steady pace and you'll finish off that Monster in no time... Pure Joy my friends, pure joy. One final note on this - don't be surprised if when you're done - your muffins start talking. (If you don't know what I mean just ask CWig)

It's a good question... my quick response - 2000+ years will do that to ya.

As small as 2000 years is in the grand scheme of things - it is hard for me to live as though Jesus will return tomorrow when I know that He didn't return on any of the roughly 73,000 yesterdays since he left.

But like I said, this is a good question. And to go one step futher, let me ask this broad follow up: What are the ramifications of not living in light of the Bride Groom's return?

It must be difficult for orthodox Jews - they've been waiting a really long time for the Messiah to show up in the 1st place, much less return.

part of the problem with the church is that it's really caught up in the present..present satisfaction of their parishners..though we should live in the present seeing people with the eyes of Jesus and keeping our focus on the cross the church has become to much like the world. Look at the last two churches built in Round Rock..both are very large churches (St. Williams & First Methodist) that provide opportunities for their members.. And I'm not sure that the emergent church will do even a better job of focusing on the end times.
